Step 1
Assessing your requirements…
We want you to be thrilled with the quality and capabilities your SoftSign Fonts set. To help insure that, it is necessary that you understand certain basics about how software fonts work and hence what SoftSign Fonts can do and what’s involved in doing it.
How software fonts work:
- A font must be available on a computer in order to use it and print (or fax) files that use it. This means that if you use a specific font in an e-mail or other file that you send to other people, they will not see that font’s characters unless that font is available on their computer.
- How can you make a font available on a computer in order to see its characters in a document?
- The conventional way is just to install it on the computer.
- However, there is another way because certain computer applications (most notably, Adobe Acrobat), make it possible to embed a font or a subset of its characters within a file that uses it. A font whose characters are embedded in a file will be visible when viewing that specific file even if the font has not been conventionally installed on the computer.
What SoftSign Fonts can do and what’s involved in doing it:
- SoftSign is intended primarily for signing documents with handwritten signatures and printing or faxing signed documents, not for sharing computer files that contain signatures with other people or computers.
- SoftSign can be used for sharing computer files that contain signatures with other people or computers, but only with people who, or computers that, have access to a copy of the same SoftSign font.
