IOKP requires version 7 or later of either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to function properly. Installing certain Apple software may change your computer’s settings to open your PDF files with an Apple application rather than Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. We strongly recommend restoring the setting to an appropriate Adobe application in order to achieve better performance with all PDF files.

Macintosh Users
If you see a “Demo” message on your screen when using IOKP, it has probably opened with another PDF application program. Macintosh OS X, for example, has Preview set as the default application program for opening PDF files. To set your PDF files to open with either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat:

In the Finder click any PDF file’s icon to highlight it,

In the File menu, select “Get Info” (command–I),

Find the “Open with” list of installed applications and select your Adobe application,

Click the “Change all…” button and close the Get Info window.

Windows Users
Installing Apple’s Safari web browser may set your PDF files to open with Safari. To set your PDF files to open with either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat:

From the Windows desktop, find any PDF file and right–click its icon,

Select “Properties” in the “General” tab and click the “Change” button,

Select your Adobe application,

Check the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” box and click the “OK” button,

Click the “OK” button to close the Properties window.
